LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, LIFE IS SHORT

I read the most amazingly inspiring blog posts this morning. It is from one of my very favorite fellow photographers, Lidia Grigoreon. I really look up to her!  Everything about this woman is inspiring, her attitude towards life, her work, her words, her relationship with her daughter, her battle with cancer. I think that this particular post from her is especially inspiring, so much so that I want to share it with everyone!

I think that as a photographer it is part of your job to capture the beauty that is life. The best part is we all have our own way of doing so, beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all!
Anyway please take some time to read her post, it is long but well worth the long read! & pass it on if it touches your heart, someone you know may really need these inspiring words to help them along!

Never take what you have for granted, love with your whole heart, & laugh until it hurts!

Here are some images of the beauty I have captured in my own life:

PTM'S 52 project: Week 4

For week four the topic was "A different perspective" & the themes were "blue & renewal".
All week long I was trying to get shots laying on the ground looking up I envisioned my entry for the week to be a picture of my son with the sky as the background. Unfortunately  I could never get my two year old to stand still long enough to get this shot.  By Friday, I still had no shot for this week. Thankfully a friend of mine, one of my best friends, took me out to a burlesque fashion show on Friday. I ended up with this shot from the balcony:

I know its noisy. It was dark in there my iso was at 1600. I need a speedlite for these situations, my on camera flash just doesn't work for this type of situation! That is my next purchase as far as camera equipment goes!

I want to share one more shot I did for this topic although it has nothing to do with either blue or renewal, but I think it's cute!

"Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys."
(I think it's too late!)

Paint the moon's 52 project- week 3

This year I thought it would be great to try LOTS of new things with my photography, You know, expand my horizons. So, I have decided to take part in Paint The Moon Photography's (Annie Manning) 52 project for 2013. I missed the first two weeks of the project because I simply knew nothing about it. This project encompasses lifestyle photography based around weekly themes.

This is my submission for week 3- "this makes me want to freeze time"
The themes were dream or matching.
I think that this goes more with the dream theme. You know how you sometimes dream memories? (at least I do.) This image to me seems like something I may look back on in the future or perhaps one of my memories that will reoccur in a dream, because of his laughter and how much he enjoys the car that Santa brought him. This toy is one of the few he plays with everyday, it is one we enjoy together because he likes it when I push him in it so he can drive fast and he laughs all the while (especially if we are chasing the cats)!

2012 Holiday shots

a few pictures from our holidays this past year!

New blogger

I have for been thinking I should start a blog for some time now. I think that this blog will be mostly about my work as a photographer as well as things I learn as I go! There is always room for improvement! I may, from time to time, post on different subjects that are not Facebook friendly, feel free to give me your input. I am not much of a ranter, but when I do it is because I feel passionately about something! This is a few examples of my work & yes, this is my kid, Daemon.
